Difference between Resync and Recalculate

The Resync button is utilized to update and synchronize data across various online channels. On the other hand, Recalculate is used to resubmit the same rates already present in RT 3.0 again and system will auto calculate the derivation rules and populate complete data accordingly.

There are various situations where the Resync feature can be utilized. For instance, if a hotel's room and rate plans are already present in RT 3.0 but are now mapped to a new OTA room rate, the Resync button can be used to push rates and inventory to the new OTA room rate. Similarly, if a new channel has been added and mapped to the existing hotel room and rate plans, the Resync button can be used to push data to the new channel after completing the necessary set up.

In case of connection errors or timeouts, Resync feature can be used to update data. Additionally, if the user has made changes to channel weights, tax and commission, or passenger setup, Resync can be used to calculate and update new data to the channel.

Recalculate is a feature utilized to resubmit existing rates already present in RT 3.0 against a hotel's room and rate plans. In case the user creates a new rate plan that is 10% more than the parent rate plan, Recalculate can be used to populate the rates of the new rate plan. Moreover, if there are changes made to a room's occupancy, such as from two to three, Recalculate can be used after completing the necessary setup to derive rates for the new 3rd occupancy.

You can select the options based on how you wish to use recalculate.

  1. Derivation and occupancy weights - This option will do an entire recalculate of all the occupancy prices based on occupancy weights and rate plan derivations if any.

  1. Smart Fill weight - This option will do a recalculate of all the occupancy prices based on occupancy weights, rate plan derivations and smart fill weights for the selected rooms and rate plans.

Due to the potentially high volume of queue generated, the Recalculate and Resync features should be used with care.
