Price Automation using BAR Levels

RateTiger enables hotels to streamline their pricing strategy by predefining various rate levels and applying them to selected or all products based on occupancy rules. This one-time configuration ensures that rates are automatically triggered when occupancy levels meet the pre-set criteria.

In order to use this functionality, you can go to the Revenue Rules section, which can be found in the Product tab in Settings.

1st Step would be to start creating multiple BAR levels and you can do so on the "All Levels" section where on the left-hand corner of the page, you will find a list of your room and rate plan combinations. From there, you can create multiple BAR levels.

After creating the BAR levels, you can then set rates in accordance with your pricing strategy. If you choose not to set rates for a specific BAR level and product combination, you may leave the field blank and no update would happen for that particular case. Once the pricing is configured, click on Save Changes and you can move to the next step.

If you wish, you can also change the position of the BAR levels , rename them or delete them as shown in the screenshot below.

2nd Step would be to go to the next section called "Occupancy Levels", where you can configure the total number of rooms and the occupancy levels when rates should change.

The occupancy levels will be displayed in ascending order and each occupancy level must be unique and cannot be duplicated. You may remove occupancy levels by clicking on the corresponding delete button located next to each entry.

To add a new occupancy level, you must click on the "Add new level" button, which will open a pop-up window, as depicted in the screenshot. Once added, the new entry will be displayed on the occupancy level page, and you must click on "Save changes" to ensure the changes are saved.

3rd step consists of establishing rules, as shown in the screenshot below, so RateTiger would know when and what BAR levels to apply. When the occupancy level reaches the designated threshold, the system will activate the prices for the defined BAR levels as set on the "All Levels" page.

You can also leave any particular occupancy level blank from selecting BARs and then no updates will be triggered when those occupancy levels are reached.

The columns of weekends and Hot Dates will automatically appear as the set up is predefined in Weekend and Hot Dates section. If you need help with creating Hot Dates and defining weekends, you can use the below links:

Before we leave, keep in mind that you need to activate the automated BAR levels and you can do so by going to the next page called "Activation".

Activating the BAR levels would restrict you from manually changing any prices from the "Manage Calendar" page and also prices coming from the PMS would be ignored.

Please note the BAR level rate updates happen in an asynchronous way, hence you need to refresh the page in order to see the newly updated rates.

When you update availability, the system first pushes the details to the channel and once it is successful, the system calculates the BAR levels to update the applicable prices on online portals. Hence the price update will not instantly process and reflect in the calendar page, it might take some time due to the asynchronous behavior.

In the event that no availability has been loaded in RT 3.0 or if the initial loading process has not been completed, the system will interpret those dates as having zero availability.

If you make any changes in the configuration or if you've just activated the feature, a Recalculation needs to be performed in the "Calendar Page" for the new configuration to kick in otherwise prices would start changing when the availability changes.
