Taxes and Fees configuration

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up your taxes and fees for the booking engine in the most efficient way.

To activate taxes and fees for the booking engine, follow these configuration instructions in RT 3.0

  1. Access the RT 3.0 system and click on the "Settings" option in the top right-hand side dropdown menu.
  2. Select "Products" from the menu that appears.
  3. Navigate to the "Price Setting" tab and click on it.
  4. Open the page by clicking on the last tab labeled "Taxes".
  5. If the prices uploaded in RT 3.0 already include taxes, click on "Included in the price uploaded".
  6. If you don't select "Included in the price uploaded", it means the prices in RT 3.0 are exclusive of taxes and those will be added on top when displaying the price to the bookers.
  7. You have the option to define your Taxes and Fees separately. All added Taxes and fees will be displayed under their respective lists.
  8. To add a new Tax, click on "Add New Tax". A pop-up will appear, allowing you to enter the Tax Name and Amount. You can also specify if the tax is calculated on top of another tax.

You can select multiple sub-taxes. Additionally, if there is a relationship between a parent and child

tax, the parent and child both taxes will not appear in the selection dropdown when creating

another new tax.

  1. To configure fees, click on "Add new fee". Choose the desired fee name and specify the corresponding amount. From the dropdown menu, you can also determine how the fee amount should be applied and calculated. The fees are never included in the price that you upload in RT 3.0 system and gets added on top while displaying the amount to the bookers in the booking engine.

  1. For per person per night and per person per stay, you can even set different fees for kids.

  1. Selecting "Different for Kids" will enable you to insert the kids fees age wise as shown below.

  1. Lastly, you have the option to choose whether you want to display the gross price or net price in the booking engine. The fees shall always be displayed separately in the booking engine.

  1. If you select Gross price, it shall display as below.

  1. If you select Net Price, it shall display the price in booking engine as below with tax and/or fees information as per configuration.

Note : You will never find duplicate taxes or fees in the dropdown. Fees do not apply on top of another fees like Taxes.
